Lobbying and Advocacy National and provincial L&A campaigns (Forums, Social medias, conferences) to : Champion the cause for the smaller marginalised NGO’s within its network. Be a voice in the sector ensuring fair play, equity and equality within the sector. Hold stakeholders within the sector accountable, government, private sector, universities, academia and all other stakeholders. Capacity Building SSCN provides a number of capacity building and training projects for: Coaches / youth leaders – SSCN Toolkits / train the trainers through the SSCN directly Coaching for youth workers – through SASCOC Project management, good governance and fundraising – External consultants Peer to peer learning – Member to member sharing of skills and knowledge. Active Recreation Events National events promoting Sport as a Tool for Social Change, Active Recreation and Physical Activity for a winning and Healthy Nation. These events will have held annually during Physical Activity, Sport for Development and Peace, Mandela Day and National Recreation Day. Networking & Stakeholder Engagement Bringing SSCN members and other stakeholders together through the; National TADS Conference and the; Provincial Twinning exchanges for; Sharing of best practices and lessons learnt. SSCN will group Tier 1 NGO’s with tier 2 or 3 organizations to ensure valuable exchange opportunities Resource Mobilisation & Dissemination Annual Grant & Equipment to drive sustainable social change activities  in Southern Africa Pro - bono services : Project management, HR, Marketing, legal support services etc.… Sub-contracting SSCN acts as a conduit to deliver projects addressing specific needs on behalf of many funding agents, from government, development agencies and the private sector. Policy, Procedures and Good Governance Developing minimum standards for governance for all stakeholders in including NGO’s, Private Sector, Academia and all other partners wanting to align with the SSCN Developing new policies for the sector Develop a strong data base for the NGO’s in the sector Conduct annual vetting of the Network members

The SSCN is a network of NGOs in civil society that primarily uses recreation, modified sports and physical activity as vehicles for social change.
The SASCOC is South Africa’s multi-coded sporting federation responsible for the presentation and performance of teams to all multi-coded international events: Olympic, Commonwealth, World and Africa Games.
